I finally purchased a gaming rig for the upcoming release of FFXIV:ARR!

Oh wow, it has been so long since I updated this page. For those that comes here now and then (or never) I apologize!

Anyway! As a Final Fantasy fan would know, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is just around the corner! (Well, a few months still but...!!!) I finally saved up enough, and bought a gaming rig so I can play it and do other stuff like CS6 and some goodies.

Here is what I have purchased:

Asus Maximus V Extreme motherboard
Intel Core i7 3770K Ivy bridge 3.5Ghz
Nocua NH-C14 CPU cooler
Corsair Dominator Platinum 2x8GB ram
Intel 520 series 240 GB SSD
Western Digital Caviar Black 2TB HDD
EVGA GTXTitan Superclocked edition!!!!!
AsusXonar ROG Phoebus sound card
Corsair AX860 digital modular power supply
Asus Blu-Ray combo
Asus PB278Q 27" IPS monitor

All these are (except the screen) will be in a white NZXT Phantom 630 Ultra tower.

The parts will get to me next week, and I will be taking plenty of picture of it and how my little room looks like once the computer is in it!

I seriously can't wait!

Building my gaming rig! for FFXIV 2.0!!!!

It has truly been a long time since I posted anything. The reason being.... I was too lazy, and have been busy with other commitments like school and yoga. :P

Anyhow... I am finally going to build a computer, so I can play FFXIV a Realm Reborn!!!!!

This is what I'm planning:

Intel Core i7 3770k Ivy Bridge 3.5Ghz 8mb LGA1155
ASUS Maximus V Formila Motherboard
16 Gig Ram - Corsair Vengeance (4x4)
ASUS GTX680 Top 2GB Graphics Card
OCZ Vertex 4 256GB SSD Hard drive for OS and other software
Seagate Barracuda 2TB SATA3 Hard drive for music, movies etc
Corsair Obsidian 550D Mid-Tower Quiet Case
Seasonic X-Series 1050W Gold Power supply
ASUS Blu-Ray Combo
Corsair H80 liquid CPU cooler
Corsair SP120 quiet edition fans

Needs moar update!!

Sorry about the super delayed update. I have been busy with Uni these days, even though I have been playing some games! So whats new?? Heres whats new. I recently have obtained my copies of..... dum dum dum... *drum roll please*.... DISSIDIA DUODECIM: Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy IV the Complete Collection for PSP! I also re-obtained a copy of Folklore, one of my first games on PS3!

I have finished Final Fantasy IV the original, and finished the story line and collected quite a bit for Duodecim. About 200 hours for both games... lol Is that a good thing while I'm studying?! Final exams are coming up in 3 weeks, and I'm still not in the study mode... will I ever be in a study mode...? hmmmm.

Either way, I have pre-ordered White Knight Chronicles 2 for PS3 which is coming out hopefully next week. I'm super excited as it has the improved version of the original game. I've always wanted to play it since it seems like a decent JRPG (which the PS3 lacks) these days. Also, my PS3 haven't received a lot of loving recently as PSP has been stealing all it's glory with all those great games.

Anyways, needs more Final Fantasy updates. SE, we need more news!

A bit of an update!

Well well well, it has been a while since I updated the blog. I haven't done much in terms of playing games so I'll just update with some Final Fantasy related announcements for now!

I have to start it off with this year's big news, the announcement of Final Fantasy XIII-2!! And, it is releasing end of this year! Wow! I can't wait! I personally loved FFXIII, and Lightning. I know some people don't but for me it was a great Final Fantasy. Intriguing story line, well developed characters  and a different game play system which I didn't mind. I personally can't wait!

Doesn't this picture look epically epic?! lol. It does. Lightning is as cool as ever (I loved her white leather jacket and outfit in FFXIII as well) with her new cool looking sword and armour. Her rival doesn't seem too bad either! Can't wait for more info to be released about this game!

Now next up we have the long, long awaited Final Fantasy Versus XIII. This game... I tell you... I've been waiting since they first announced it... uhhh 5 years ago. Literally, I've been hyped for this game (and I'm sure many of you are) since the announcement of this game at E3 2006. It's been this long, and it isn't even going to be released this year, as Nomura the Director said 'We already have type-0 and FFXIII-2 this year, so give us more time, we want to do something amazing". Well they better do something that surpasses all our expectations for keeping us waiting for that long, well at least something that doesn't disappoint. I doubt that though. It seems awesome so far!

Whats up next?! Of course! Final Fantasy Type-0 (or previously known as Final Fantasy Agito XIII) for the PSP! At first when I looked at their first trailer, I wasn't very impressed by the game. However that changed after they showed the very awesome trailer during their First Production announcement on the 18th of January. It seems very different but very Final Fantasy, it seems like it has lots of depth and potential, and there are lots of characters! This can be amazing if they develop the characters well while integrating them into the storyline. The graphics looks pretty sweet for the PSP also. Can't wait! Here is the trailer for you to watch.

Also I'm excited about Dissidia 012 Duodecim, Final Fantasy IV Complete, The 3rd Birthday and Kingdom Hearts 3DS. This year will be a great year for us fans and Square!

P.S. I just pre-ordered my copy of Dissidia 012 Duodecim Final Fantasy Original Soundtrack Collector's Edition. OMG! I CAN'T WAIT! It has YUNA on the COVER! lol yes. I'm soooo happy that she is in the game. Also, Prishe from FFXI too! Really can't wait for this game. I just hope that it doesn't effect my study... because I'll be more than likely to spend hundreds of hours on this game like I did on the first one... hahaha...

Awwww ain'ts this cover pretty! Can't wait till I get it!

Me playing the piano

Well! I've been wanting to post some videos of me playing the super duper awesomeness Final Fantasy music on this blog for a long time. I've done some recordings but everytime I try to make a recording, I choke and stop half way, screwing up the whole video. However, today was a different story! A friend decided to record me playing a piece from the Kingdom Hearts Piano Collections - Field and Battles and put it onto Youtube. I played it... rather badly, many many mistakes and I'm only using an oldish digital camera so no HD. But since it's online, I thought I would share it with the people that come here! I also had the guts to record two other pieces from Final Fantasy VIII, which turned out OK, they both had mistakes in it, but oh well. Why not just put them up since the KH piece was worse! Here it is!

Musique Pour La Tristesse de Xion - Kingdom Hearts Piano Collections Field and Battles

Fisherman's Horizon - Final Fantasy VIII Piano Collections

Ami - Final Fantasy VIII Piano Collections

Hope you like it, I will definitely be putting up more videos of other FF/KH music. Feel free to comment and make requests!

Valkyria Chronicles

A little off track of the 'Final Fantasy' scene, but this time I'll be writing about another brilliant JRPG called Valkyria Chronicles. I know this game is very old but this beautiful, emotional and entertaining JRPG is definately one of the best RPGs for the PS3 so I just had to write about it.

I've recently just re-finished playing Valkyria Chronicles, and it is simply beautiful in all respects. The water colour art style, the music, the emotional storyline and the game play were top notch!
I'll give a brief comment on each of those parts of the game.

The graphics were different and nice, they used a WaterColour style to portrait everything in the game, it made it look classy, smooth, rich and life like. Even though it's not up to Uncharted 2 or Final Fantasy XIII CGI standards, theres nothing to be complained about this beautiful and thoughtful idea of portraying characters and beautiful images through the vividness of water colour. I guess the only thing they could improve is the Physix and movements of characters that can be awkward in some parts of the game, but only some parts.

The music was well composed and arranged. Even though some are rather cliche and somewhat reminiscent of other works of similar context, there are brilliant tracks. My favourite has to be the piece called 'Those Who Succeeded', a piano and violin duet. Beautiful instrumental arrangement from the original vocal and orchestral counterpart (which the Japanese version is very good while the English version lacked emotions in my opinion). This piece is a major theme in this game and very emotional if you have played it. I won't spoil it for you XD. The sound effects of gun shots and voice acting (Japanese) were very well done, and I'm glad they let us choose which language we want the voice acting to be, because the English voice just doesn't cut it for this game... Below is Those Who Succeeded, my favourite track from this game.

The storyline was beautiful. The pacing was very well done, and it implemented each main character and developed them very well. No one was left out and things were explained. It is also very emotional. Emotional in so many ways, from sacrifice to loss, from vengeance to dictatorship which all can happen in real life, so for those who have experienced war and or have lost someone dear will definately break a tear or two while playing this game because I certainly did. It was just simply beautiful yet emotional, yet true... Go play it and you'll find out what I mean.

The game play is great! It's a tactical RPG where it actually requires tactics and thinking before making moves (or you can use Orders which make the game less challenging) or things can go wrong and you can easily lose if you don't plan things out. The only thing I can complain about is that this game doesn't have much room for character customisation, but it is more than enough to be very enjoyable.

I loved the game and I know I will be playing it again in the future, and hopefully they bring out a PS3 sequel that is better than this one. There is a sequel for PSP, it is fun, the combat and customisation is deeper but the story line lacked so I'll consider it as a side game for now until they release a proper sequel! If you have a PS3 and like RPGs (or not) and have not played this game, I urge you to play it. I'm sure you'll love it!

OMG! DREAM COME TURE!

Well... I guess everyone knows who my favourite character is. And this character is now appearing in one of my most anticipated game of 2011!  Dissidia Duodecim: Final Fantasy!
Here is the latest trailer from Jump Festa, it is amazing, it seems like they implemented a lot of new stuff in this game, and it will be very complex and in depth.

If you don't know who my favourite character is, then you will know when you get to 4:37-4:38 in this awesome epic trailer. OMG! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! I GET TO SEE HER IN ACTION ONCE AGAIN!!! WOOHOOO!!!!!!!!! YESSS!! WOOT!!! lol.
Anyways. I'm gonna go celebrate this along with Christmas. Merry Christmas Everyone!
